Welcome to Ripple Effect. I’ve always been fascinated by how behaviors and beliefs impact our satisfaction and success. I love the study of leadership, spiritual growth, personality tendencies, and strategies that propel us toward our goals. In my youth, after working ten years in a psych hospital, I discovered I was actually called to serve leaders, primarily women, who struggle to understand themselves. Same skill base, different population.  I love working alongside women who hold leadership roles in business, ministry, non-profits, and blended families. I believe we are called to lead wherever we stand, in an official or unofficial capacity. I believe women who seek God and embrace their roles of leadership in the home or in the office can change the world.

I hold degrees in psychology and management, and a year of study in theology. I worked in full-time ministry for many year, and also have 20 years of experience in leadership development and small business consultation. I am a certified Blackaby Spiritual Leadership Coach, DISC certified, a Spiritual Gifts Trainer, author of the Fool-Proof Hiring method, and working on a book about Blending Family Strategies.

And then there was Life in the Blender! Since 2015 I’ve felt compelled to pursue my passion to provide coaching support and education to step-moms and step-couples, and to help pastors and churches provide care and divorce prevention to blended families. I am a step-grandchild, step-child, step-mom, and step-grandma.

Because I was a step child and step grandchild, I believe God gave me a heart of compassion for my own step kids and understanding of the pain they experienced as their parents divorced and remarried. However, I was shocked at how hard it was to be a stepmom, and at how isolated and not part of the family I felt. My remarkable husband and I have worked diligently, loved unconditionally, learned the hard way on many issues, and believe it is only through our faith in Christ that our family and marriage survived the blending years. My step kids taught me so much about forgiveness and unconditional love. I praise God for them and our blended family. I’ve been married with three wonderful step kids for more than 25 years.
